I have amazing news that I can finally share.  It’s now official.  I was asked to be the SCBWI Illustrator Coordinator for my region (Alaska) and I said yes.  AND I’m going to the SCBWI LA conference in July (my first National conference).

AND I’m going to be entering into the Illustrator Portfolio Showcase (another first).  EEP!

I figured these steps would all help push me in the right direction, but also challenge me to step it up.  Unless I completely freak out and run away into the hills screaming.  But no.  I don’t see that happening.  I’m going to buckle down and work on my illustrations BIG time.  I need my portfolio to be up-to-scratch.  This is the BIG leagues!

I’ve also decided that I want to share a kid-friendly poem-a-day every day in April.  Why?  Because it’s something I’m passionate about and enjoy  reading.  Prepare yourself!  =D
