Today’s poem captures my favorite image from “When Green Becomes Tomatoes: Poems for All Seasons” by Julie Fogliano and pictures by Julie Morstad. It may be a bit premature to share a summer poem, but as we’re all longing for that warmth and sunshine, I thought I might go ahead anyway. The words capture the heat that can only be solved with water and the image caught me in both its simplicity and joy. I can remember moments exactly like this as a kid (though in the ocean, not a river).
