Enough with the funny poems for a bit.  How about some nonfiction poems that inform?  Once again Irene Latham has an animal/nature collection out, but this time it’s about Antarctica.  I was fascinated with what I learned there (the Brinicle?!  I wish I’d taken a picture of that, as I find in hindsight that this was my favorite thing that I learned!).  Instead, I found myself easily swayed by the beautiful art illustrating the pages along with the poems like in this one here.
