Here is yet another collection of picture book poetry collected by Lee Bennett Hopkins’.
“I am Someone Else: Poems About Pretending” is an excellent collection of poetry. I have friends who wrote poems that made it into this book and I was hoping to share one of their’s. I was also wanting to share the mermaid poem (because hello? mermaid fanatic!), but no. The poem I have to share is one written by Lois Lowry. YES! THAT Lois Lowry! Did you know she wrote poetry? I didn’t either!
“Big Problems” had me laughing out loud. Not only because I come from a family of tall people and could relate, but also because I was trying to imagine what kiddo is pretending to be a giant’s wife? It’s hilarious! I HAD to share it here:
