It happened when I wasn’t looking: my blog has over 1,000 followers. This requires a giveaway!
I had grand plans for when I reached this milestone. I thought it would never come, but if the day did come that I had 1,000 followers I would give away books, or Alaskan treats, or some piece of art I’d created. Then of course COVID happened.
The world went topsy turvy, I scrambled to keep up, and I missed watching the kettle reach a boil. It literally happened when I wasn’t looking. And of course, now I don’t feel like I can mail anything! So I’ve been racking my brain, trying to figure out what I can give away to celebrate this occasion when over 1,000 people feel like it’s worth reading the words I write.
And then it hit me! I’m a great critiquer. People have told me this for years. I know I have the gift of ferreting out problems in others work that they hadn’t seen before (if only it worked as easily for my own!). I’ve even helped others to get to the publication stage.
SO I’m giving away a critique to one lucky winner. It can be for a picture book manuscript, an illustration (probably best if it’s for a picture book or a kidlit portfolio piece, not fine art), an illustrator postcard you want to send out, a picture book dummy, poetry, short stories, or the first 10 pages of a novel. If there’s something you want to send that isn’t on the list, ask me.

I’m also from Alaska. I lived on a homestead between Central and Circle. We were there 22 and had to move back to Texas a few years back. I’m so homesick for Alaska!
