NPM 2023 Day 30: ZOOBILATIONS

It’s the last day of April and I have one last book to share.  I’m always surprised how hard it is, in the end, to pick just one book for every day.  There are so many wonderful poetry picture books out there, including some that I have already shared on my blog in interviews. If you follow my blog and you’re a fan of poetry, keep my eye out for the poetry picture books I share as I can all year long.  Just within the last few months, I interviewed Jeanette Bradley about NO WORLD TOO BIG, Rebecca G. Levington about WHATEVER COMES TOMORROW, and Lesa Cline Ransome about OF WALDEN POND.  That’s only going back as far as November 2022!  I look forward to sharing many more poetry picture books with you dear readers.

But today, I will end with this book.  It’s also the perfect ending: a happy and silly note.  Douglas Florian has created yet another wonderful poetry picture book collection with wacky word play and hilarious illustrations that make me laugh, giggle, and sometimes (I admit it) snort.  ZOOBILATIONS is a collection of puntastic animal poems that is sure to have young readers giggling.  I certainly did when I read this one:

If you read all of my poetry picture book posts, thank you.  I hope you enjoyed them.  And if you’re looking for more poetry fun, be sure to check out the Kidlitosphere Event Roundup!  See ya next year (if not sooner)!
