NPM 2023 Day 12: HONEY FOR YOU HONEY FOR ME

Today’s poetry picture book is a collection of nursery rhymes from the UK intended for the very young.

HONEY FOR YOU HONEY FOR ME: A FIRST BOOK OF NURSERY RHYMES is a just that.  Michael Rosen has collected a bunch of nursery rhymes (some short, some long, some silly, some thoughtful) that would be a delightful first exposure to poetry.  The illustrations by Chris Riddell are every bit as wonderful as the rhymes, which is only to be expected.

I debated between a silly (and extremely short) poem or the one I ended up choosing for quite some time.  BUT in the end went with one I would’ve loved as a child myself.
