It’s the very last day of April and the very last of the poetry picture books I will share (for now). What better book to end the month on than this ode of love?
I’LL ALWAYS COME BACK TO YOU is a picture book poem written from the point of view of a mother to her child. In this particular story she is a postal worker who must travel the world to deliver missives of love to others. She must consistently leave her child at home, but the constant refrain of the book (and the mother’s heart) is that she will always return. This sweetly written picture book with charming illustrations would be perfect for any parent that must leave for an extended period of time. It would be the perfect bedtime read aloud to be repeated nightly (together or apart). I thought it would be the perfect ending to the month as well. I hope you’ve enjoyed these posts (even though I had to pull back a little bit this year) and will return next year for more.
