What if, what if, what if…
IF I COULD CHOOSE A BEST DAY is a poetry picture book collection of “poems of possibility.” Each poem starts with “if” and imagines many different things. Here there is a wide variety of interpretation from thirty-one diverse poets. One imagines a world without hate; one harkens back to a famous poem with a wishing fish.
With such variety, I struggled to pick just one favorite (but I wouldn’t expect anything else from a Waters/Latham collection). In the end, I went with a lovely poem about birds. I will show you only half the spread (as the other half has another poem on it). Here is the close-up of the poem and then the wider shot including the illustration.
