I can’t wait to do this with you guys.  Even if it’s only two other people participating, it is the camaraderie that I look forward to, the talking  about what we’re doing, and seeing what others think of and produce for the same topic.  It’s down right inspiring!  It gets my creativity flowing.

But it occurs to me that a contest should probably have some rules.  SO here are a few minor generic things to keep in mind as we do this (more like reminders for myself as well).

RULES:

1. Draw every day.
2. Post every day (and hashtag and link it here so we can all see and share).
3. Don’t compare yourself to others.  We are all at different levels of learning to draw, different skills and styles.  Share that you like something by all means, but don’t let doubt and fear creep in and tell you that you’re not good enough to participate here.
4. Finished, NOT perfect.  It can be a work-in-progress that you share (and intend to finish later, or not) because it was all you had time to do.  A pencil sketch, an ink drawing you intend to paint later, or whatever.  Just share.  I’m a perfectionist so I tend to try and make it perfect.  Watch the video below.  It’s become one of my mantras.
5. HAVE FUN!!!  That’s what this is all about you guys!

Seriously, I’m SO excited to do this with you guys.  By the way, I might be posting topics a day early so you can all comment on them as needed (since Alaska is almost in a different time zone all together from everywhere else!).  Don’t be alarmed.  Just follow the numbers of the prompt which match the dates and you’re good to go.
