NPM #29

Because I can never be too serious for too long, I must share a funny poem.  Today’s poem includes a clever pun.  In “Wing Nuts: Screwy Haiku” poets Paul B. Janeczko and J. Patrick Lewis have a blast playing with words in short little packages.  The illustrations of Tricia Tusa are also fun companion pieces to the word play.

Each page in the book has 2-4 poems on each spread, and the illustrations begin to overlap.  So, I share today’s funny haiku (which always gives me a giggle) with the picture as best as I could capture it (though it also has a bit of another poem entangled with it.  Isn’t that the best way to do it?  Tangling poems; playing with words.
