If you’re a space fanatic, then today’s poetry picture book is for you. I learned some surprising facts about the things left behind on the moon that I hadn’t heard before!
THE MUSEUM ON THE MOON: THE CURIOUS OBJECTS ON THE LUNAR SURFACE is a poetry picture book by the ever so talented Irene Latham and illustrated by Myriam Wares. Each page shares a different poem about a different thing left on the moon: some on purpose, some on accident, and some for research purposes. It’s a fascinating look at the effect we have had on the moon, as well as wonderful poetry. The illustrations are perfect. I love the incredible layering of textures throughout the book, as well as the way Myriam plays with light. All together this is another wonderful collection of poetry that made it difficult to choose only one poem (but somehow I did).

I’ve been hearing about this one and am anxious to see it in person. Thanks for the sample poems — just beautiful!
