Can poetry for babies work? Yes it can!

I heard about this board book concept book and just had to check it out (especially with glorious illustrations by Teagan White, whose work I adore). Every page of the board book PEEK-A-BOO HAIKU has a haiku guessing what animal is hiding under the flap. It’s a perfect set up and delivery for the youngest of readers that’s sure to win over some new fans of poetry.
Once again I struggled with which page to choose (there’s a gorgeous page with a sea turtle that I also adore) but I went with this one as I think it might capture the flap bit the best (and I adore foxes).

And if you’re looking for more poetry fun this month, be sure to check out the Kidlitosphere Event Roundup! Thank you for stopping by!
I also love Danna’s haiku in this adorable book!
Right? They’re fantastic and super fun. What a great concept!
I LOVE this book and just shared a haiku from it on Instagram last week. SO GOOD!!
Right? I agree!
Babies need the rhythm of poetry of all kinds. Adding a lift-the-flap is genius!
