I love hearing about books that I’ve featured winning awards (especially if I’m not surprised at all by that news)!

If you missed the interview I did last fall with Nancy White Carlstrom, you missed a great book. COUNTING WINTER is a gorgeous book that celebrates winter and highlights animals the author saw during her many years that she spent in Alaska. The woodcut illustrations are fantastic. I just found out that the book won the 2025 Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry Award. Isn’t that wonderful? You can find out more about the award here. And you can read all about the book in my interview here.

And if you’re looking for more poetry fun this month, be sure to check out the Kidlitosphere Event Roundup! Thank you for stopping by!
I love this book!
