National Hawaii Day

Did you know that July 5th was National Hawaii Day?

I missed it by a day, BUT I was interviewed by Lynne Marie about my book to celebrate National Hawaii Day yesterday! AND there’s a giveaway for a critique. Go read it! In exchange, I will share some of my favorite pictures from my latest trip to Hawaii in March. Enjoy! <3

That is my book at the top of that carousel! Found it in the wild.
One of the many beaches in Hawaii, but look at ALL of those blues!
The North Shore as seen from above at an overlook.
Chickens crossing the road.
My hubby and THE DUKE at Wakiki beach at sunset. OH that warm glow!
Sunset out over the water (on a sunset cruise) off Kauai’s coast.
Part of the canyons on Kauai (almost like the grand canyon).
Talk Story Bookstore in Hanapepe (the western most bookstore in the US).
The boss of the Talk Story bookstore.
One of our favorite murals in Hanapepe in Kauai.

  1. Glad you did this post! I really enjoyed reading and looking at the pictures. I loved the book store cat.
Your photos are amazing! It makes me want to be there. My favorite is the beach, looking out at all the blues. When we talk about favorite colors during the school year, I tell the kids in my class my favorite: periwinkle. They always giggle, then stare at me and make a face. When I show them, they say “oh, blue.” But it’s a great opportunity to talk to them about variation in color–which our art teacher talks about too. They don’t really know to look unless you plant the seed.
It must have been amazing to see your book for sale on the carousel! Congratulations!

    • Thank you! I have to share the Hawaii love. It’s a magical place full of beautiful colors. I didn’t even share all the pictures I hd picked out. Just enough to evoke the feeling of being there. So I’m glad to hear that worked!
