NPM 2020 Day 23: Just Like Me

Here’s another collection of poetry that’s worth another look.

1-just like me COVERIf you have been following my blog for a while now, you may recall seeing “Just Like Me” by Vanessa Brantley-Newton in a Simply 7 in January.  If not, you will find a couple of other poems from this same collection there, if you like today’s poem.

With all the darkness around us these days, it’s refreshing to see a collection of poems that want to build up others.  This collection focuses on young women and tries to encourage them.  There are some poems that made me laugh too (like the sundress poem–so cute! so funny!).  But this poem I chose because it’s also the cover image.  And it speaks to the artist in me.
