I do love when a good story incorporates poetry.
THE POET OF PINEY WOODS is a story of a community misjudging an outsider. The woodland creatures run in fear of a wolf who only loves to write poetry. Every time they run away, he leaves a poem behind for them to find. His poems are delightful and the animals soon realize the error of their ways. It’s a cute story with some hidden poetry that may win young readers over to this side of the poetry loving tracks.
I chose to share a page with one of my favorite poems in the book, but it also holds several other poems (if you look closely enough).
And if you’re looking for more poetry fun this month, be sure to check out the Kidlitosphere Event Roundup! Thank you for stopping by!
