I was astonished at how much I fell in love with this book.
SUN WISHES is a poem written by Patricia Storms that spans the entire book. Each page explores a different wish of the speaker who would joyfully embrace being the sun: “If I were the sun, I would….” The illustrations by Milan Pavlovic are bright, bold, and such a distinctive color palette (it really is perfect for the sun!) that they make you pause to soak everything in.
I chose one just one of my favorite spreads to share, but trust me when I say that this is a book you should check out. It’s sweet and joyful, but also gloriously composed in every way. It’s a quiet stunner that I had to share.

Gorgeous art! Will definitely seek this out!
I was surprised how much I loved this style.
I, too, love the color palette. And the media looks like watercolor. Beautiful! A terrific pick for National Poetry Month!
