Like last year, Saturdays and Sundays in April will be days I highlight poetry picture books I shared throughout the previous 12 months (between Aprils).  Today I re-share one of my favorites!

BEST IN SHOW is a poetry picture book that highlights different breeds of dogs (and some of the profits even go towards supporting a dog shelter in Texas!). David Elliott’s poems on each page just sing, which shouldn’t be a surprise as he’s a huge fan of dogs. Even more amazing are the multitude of illustrators that are also highlighted in this collection (a different illustrator on every spread!). This is a collection to read and cherish!
