NPM 2026 Day 13: THE GIFT OF THE BROKEN TEACUP

How is a broken teacup a gift? Read this collection of mindfulness poems to find out!

THE GIFT OF THE BROKEN TEACUP: POEMS OF MINDFULNESS, MEDITATION, AND ME is a poetry picture book collection by poet Allan Wolf. Allan’s words once again vibrate on the page with meaning and humor. The bright and gorgeous illustrations by Jade Orlando also help to bring these introspective words to wonderful life. There’s a lot here to love!

Once again, I struggled to pick just one poem to share. I was tempted to pick the teacup poem the book is named after, but that might be the poem many choose to read. Instead, I picked a different one that stood out to me (though again, there were several that did so). Enjoy!

And if you’re looking for more poetry fun this month, be sure to check out the Kidlitosphere Event Roundup!  Thank you for stopping by!

  1. I love Allan Wolf’s verse novels, so now I must find this…..That poem is especially meaningful to me right now, as people tend to think their individual positive actions are inconsequential. And I refuse to agree with that stance.
