NPM 2026 Day 16: HAIKU, EW!

What’s that? Disgusting nonfiction facts shared through haiku? At least they’re brief!

HAIKU, EW! CELEBRATING THE DISGUSTING SIDE OF NATURE is a poetry picture book full of nonfiction haiku about (you guessed it) gross stuff. If scatalogical humor isn’t for you or you have a weak stomach, maybe you want to just wait for tomorrow’s post. Because these really are gross. I had a hard time picking a poem to share, but for opposite reasons here. Not that they’re badly written (this is a clever way to get kids to read nonfiction AND poetry so I applaud it!), but again, they ARE revolting. Some find repulsive facts fascinating. Here’s for you!

And if you’re looking for more poetry fun this month, be sure to check out the Kidlitosphere Event Roundup!  Thank you for stopping by!
