NPM 2021 Day 25: Bark in the Park!

Today’s poetry picture book is full of word play that every dog lover will enjoy.

1-BiP COVER“Bark in the Park: Poems for Dog Lovers” is a fun collection of short poems about almost every major breed of dog imaginable.  Each breed gets its own poem.  I have a friend who adores dogs that this book would make a perfect gift for.  If you know of a kiddo who is equally obsessed about dogs, then this is the perfect dog book for them!

Avery Corman writes some very quick witty poems here and many of them made me laugh out loud as I was reading through.  He really manages to capture the essence of each breed quickly.

The illustrations by Hyewon Yum of both the dogs and their owners are brilliiant.  They are booth adorable and capture the dog’s personalities perfectly.

I share one that made me laugh out loud (as well as being perhaps one of my favorite spreads in the book).

I love the second poem on this spread too.  Both are very funny.
