It’s Saturday so I’m going to revisit a favorite from last year: a poetry picture book all about the heart!
If you missed YOUR ONE AND ONLY HEART last year, let me highlight it here again. It’s an incredible collection of poems about just ONE organ in the body: the human heart. It’s hard to imagine how a book like this can be a love song to the heart and all it does for us every single day, but it is. What else would you expect from a doctor who writes picture books? This is a collection that stayed with me long after reading it the first time and when I started teaching body systems this year in school, I was kicking myself that I didn’t already own a copy of this book to share. You can read the interview about the book here with a couple of the poems. Enjoy!
And if you’re looking for more poetry fun this month, be sure to check out the Kidlitosphere Event Roundup! Thank you for stopping by!

So awesome!
I love all of Rajani’s rhymed books. She does it so well. And in this case, her ode to the heart is especially satisfying!
I agree! It’s fantastic.
